Because of the number of submissions recieved, and people being busy and all, if you still want to submit a fic for the zine, feel free. I'll take 'em all through the weekend. :)

[st09] whaaa?
Just a reminder: Stories are due September 15th, 2006.

It would be preferred if stories were submitted before then (as I would love to have lots of good stories to read while driving to my new home in Los Angeles), but isn't required.

If you feel you need more time, please respond to this post and I'll see what I can do.

I want to thank everyone who's already submitted a story to be included in this zine. Final decisions as to who's been included will be emailed out the following weekend, September 23/24, 2006. This is also when re-write emails will go out so everything's set for an October publication date.

At this time, I'm opening the zine up for fanart or fandom essays. If you or anyone else you know has an interesting essay or fanart you think should be included, send 'em our way!

And please! Help get the word out! As the deadline looms closer, we'll need all the publicity we can get.
4th-Aug-2006 10:01 am - Possible Date Change
[st09] whaaa?
We're thinking of pushing the due date back a few weeks into September. I understand a lot of you may be returning to school; our intent is not to make things more difficult.

It may be possible to get the 'zine printed below cost, which would make it extremely affordable without sacrificing quality. In order to do that through the printer I'd like to use, we would have to submit the final layouts during the third week of September.

If the printing date was moved, the release date would also move the same amount.

As those interested, I'd like to hear your opinions.

I also will be opening up the community so that everyone can post; search for a beta, ask for help, get some input. :)
24th-Jul-2006 09:42 am - Submissions Guidelines - Annotated
[st09] whaaa?
I’ve started receiving submissions already – which is fantastic! – and wanted to clarify a few things concerning submissions based off what I’ve received, as well as input I received through an entry on my personal journal.

In addition to the previously posted submissions guidelines, please keep the following in mind:

  • Please submit your best version of the story. While this is an edited zine, everything will run much smoother if you give your submissions to a beta before submitting it.

  • Stories will be edited, and we are more than happy to work with you if it is apparent you have gone through some sort of beta process before submitting your work. This is to both alleviate the pressure on the editors, but to show your seriousness at helping produce a quality zine.

  • All corrections suggested by the editors will be marked up with either highlighting or red text. It is the writer’s discretion as to include our suggestions.

  • Please remember that stories accepted to the zine cannot be published online or in another zine for one year.

  • While we would love to accept everyone’s work, some stories may be rejected for various reasons. We’re staying pretty open here as to what can be included, and like to think we’re fair.

  • Stories must equal 4 printed pages in order to receive a comp copy of the zine.

  • You may submit (2) stories if they are short in length.

Remember, this is supposed to be fun! I do hope all of you give it a shot and we look forward to working with each and every one of you!

    On the Road
    A Supernatural Genfic Zine

A 'zine for those of us who write genfic -- episodic-based, angst, drama, comedy -- anything's game! Why restrict fanfic to the internet when so many of us end up printing off stories to read on the train, while next to the pool, or curled up in bed?

And so, we present On the Road, a 'zine of genfic just for you. And we're currently looking for submissions. Interested? Read on!

This 'zine will be a bit different, as the publisher is a crazy woman who already has so little time. Instead of being published like a magazine, On The Road will be put out as a collection of short stories and bound in the style of a larger-sized paperback. This allows for longer submissions and more stories, poems, and drabbles to be included.
